Alternative lawn care has become quite popular in the past years and for good reasons. Since alternative lawn care products do not contain harsh chemicals, these types of products are friendlier to the environment. Note that according to experts, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides can poison our lawn and affect the health of our families. We may not really notice it but the chemicals that we apply to our lawn do have some adverse effects on our health. Children and pets are especially at risk to side effects from chemicals in the yard so we should be extra careful with these things.

Studies have shown time and again how chemicals can alter the components of the soil and pollute the ground water. Choosing The Right Lawn Care Product
There are many alternative lawn care products being sold in the market today. However, not all of them are one hundred percent organic so you should be very careful about choosing your alternative lawn care products. Always remember that products that are not one hundred percent organic still contain harmful chemicals that can cause damage to the environment. To be sure that you only use products that are one hundred percent organic, look for that organic seal in the packaging of the product. If the product is not certified as organic, then forget about that product.
When choosing the right alternative lawn care product for your yard, you should take into consideration the kind of grass that you have and the climate. Note that different types of grass may need different types of nutrients so you should be careful in choosing the right type of alternative lawn care products. Moreover, the type of climate that you have will also affect the growth pattern of your grass. If you grass is well suited for the climate of your place, you may not really need to apply plenty of fertilizer nor do you need to use herbicides. Note that grass that are endemic to your place can already cope with the changes of the climate of your place so you need not worry too much about them. All you need to do is to feed them with the right type of organic fertilizer and they will thrive on their own.
