Many ex-convicts find it hard to get a job after an employer has found that they were charged with a felony or an act that they were incarcerated for. It's easy for the public to say to just start your own company. It's not that easy for those that have a record because they are usually stuck with having no money. You may be saying to yourself that this would not work for you because you need money. However, know that you have to start from a clean slate. Most volunteer agencies will give you a good recommendation for a job if they get to know you and find out that you are actually a good person that did something really bad. You may not know this, but many jobs are given to people who were recommended by someone else. If you just got out of jail, then your best bet is to allow others to see the good person in you. Most likely you have someone that is willing to help you to get back on your feet. You may even be living in a half way house. Either way, you need to get yourself started right now. You have to be willing to put in the time and the effort or else you will be back out on the street once again doing the wrong that got you into prison in the first place.

Don't blame society for your job troubles. The truth of the matter is that nobody else cares about your problems. They don't care that you cannot find a job. People will often help you if they know you and actually want to give you a second chance. Your only chance of finding a job is to actually ask the people that you are volunteering around if they know of someone who can give you a job. If you keep on getting no, then keep on volunteering until you do. Many churches are open to people who are just getting out of jail. They will often give you small jobs such as volunteering in their soup kitchens or offering you a small maintenance job.

Your first move is to try to do get your name out there. Let people know that you are a good person that they can trust. When you are going to a job interview with a prison record, you will often get bad responses. After all, would you want to hire someone who was incarcerated? You may be saying yes after your experience, but in reality, most people would not and that is the response that you will get from most employers. You can either walk away in tears convincing yourself that the only way for you to earn real money is to do something illegal or you can go a route of trust. The more that you get others to believe in you, the more that they will. Many business professionals have to do volunteer work in order to make their businesses work for them. You in return have to do something similar to prove your self worth and value. The more that you are around others, the more you will be able to show people that you are able to do a good job. Many jobs that people take on when they are fresh out of jail are: taxi cab drivers, bus boys, baggers in grocery stores, fast food chain jobs, car wash dryers, maintenance work, construction workers, handy man jobs and adult industry jobs. These are just a few jobs that are easier to come by when you are fresh out of jail and looking for a new start.

Remember that your first step in any job is to convince your employer that you can actually do the job and that you can honestly start the job for them. You have to show that you mean business and that you are ready to give your sweat into any position that will feel right for you. You may have to look for jobs that you hate because you have to first get yourself on your feet. Just because you do these jobs don't mean that you have to do them for the rest of your life. Many people start off doing jobs that they hate and then they are later on lead to a job that is more beneficial to their spiritual and emotional growth.
