Many people that are new to the psychic realm may find it to be intriguing and often exciting.  However, there are some important things that you should know if you are ever going to fully understand what a psychic is and what they do professionally. 

Psychics often train for many years to use their gift in public.  Many psychics don't want to give you false hope and sometimes telling the truth is necessary.  You have to understand that being honest with yourself and others brings more light into your life.  If you truly want to step into the psychic side of things, make sure that you are able to handle all aspects of the psychic realm. Make sure to read the Bible and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life to protect you from any danger that may be ahead of you.  If you do this, then you can almost assure yourself that no dark entities can come and harm you.  It's important to have the Holy Spirit in your life when you are doing any type of psychic work.  You don't want to mess around with any spirits until you are strongly rooted in your faith.  If something should go wrong, you will want to have a relationship with God and to know when to back away.  It's important to know what you're getting into before you actually get into it.

Make sure that you meditate and pray for at least and hour a day before you begin to give psychic readings.  Psychics that don't pray and meditate often don't get the opportunity to help others.  Energy and likeness draw others to you.  Meditation and prayer will also help you to connect with the other side and it will allow you to get in touch with your higher self.  It's important for you to shed new light on others that are in need of hearing your voice.  Inside of your mind is a new age way of thinking.  Get used to doing things differently if you are truly ready to become psychic.  Many people will depend upon you for their spiritual growth and you will have to answer many questions that you may not have an answer for.  The more that you allow yourself to grow spiritually, the more you will be able to help others.

Psychics have a tough job in the sense that you can never leave your work behind you.  Whether you are at work, home or at a party, people will always call you to give them a psychic reading.  Don't be surprised if every time you go to a party, a person says, "wow, the psychic is here."  You will be given this spiritual title because of your accuracy to see into the past, present and future and because you will need this sort of energy to connect with those around you that need you the most.  The more serious you take the psychic gift, the more serious your clients will take you as well.  Remember that being a psychic is never easy and we often don't understand the messages that our sprit guides are giving to us during a psychic reading itself.  It's important to just say whatever your guides are telling you to say without your own mind getting in the way.
