All prayers do get answered in my opinion. They usually get answered when we least expect it. Sometimes our prayers go unanswered because we are asking them in the wrong motives. Some people that pray, actually expect God to do what they want and what they see fit. This is what I call selfish praying and prayers like this may not get answered. Instead, we make get a teaching lesson instead to show us that our prayers are actually done with wrong motive.
The correct way to pray is to ask God for His will first and then ask Him to give you the answers that you are looking for in his own timing. Always pray with love and don't pray to attack someone else. You may not be able to stand someone, but don't tell God to harm them in any way because He wont. Some people do try and ask God to make something happen that may go against the laws of love. If you pray like this, then your prayers will probably go unanswered because God is all love and He wants us to love one another by his own will and mercy. We can best love our fellow man by asking God to give us his hand. We have to understand that God is our friend and he is the one person in our life that matters the most. We have to understand that when we look at God, we are actually looking at someone that is supposed to be our friend and our guide. God created us and so its His will that we act just like Him. Of course, we can never love like God because we are made of both flesh and spirit. However, we can definitely strive to do good and actually ask God to be there with us no matter what our lives may be going through.
God eventually answers all of our prayers in His own way. Whether it is for giving us a teaching lesson or actually answering us in the way that we are expecting, God is always looking out for us and giving us his love in many different degrees. God's love is all around us and sometimes we have to be able to see just how he is going to come to us in new ways.
We have to be able to see for ourselves that God's love is just a symbol of what he really feels for us. If we could actually touch God, then we would be able to see Him more fully for who he is and for what he wants to do with us. It's true that God's love goes deeper and deeper into our hearts and sometimes we may not be able to fully understand his words or his teachings in our lives. It's important to understand God in a new way. That's always a plus.
