PSP movies use the UMD (Universal Media Disc) format developed by Sony purely for use on the PSP. Of course, you can also purchase PSP movies online like anything else these days. However, the UMD format won't work in any piece of equipment but a PSP, so you'll be sacrificing compatibility with portability, but it's a compromise millions of people have been willing to make. Conversely, you could look at DVDs and other next generation formats as being unable to be taken with you on the go, so if you're traveling a lot, PSP movies are definitely the way to go.
However, this format would never sell if there wasn't an extensive library of titles to back it up though. For PSP movies, you can choose from such hits as 300, Constantine, and Kill Bill 2. With so many great titles to choose from, you'll never find yourself bored with watching hits on your PSP. When you're done watching movies, just slip your PSP into your pocket and you're good to go anywhere. It's that easy, and it really goes to show how portable the PSP is when you think about how hard it would be to watch DVDs on the go. You'd need a bulky notebook computer or portable DVD player, and then you'd have to carry it around if you wanted to go anywhere. With PSP movies, you get ultimate portability and entertainment.
