Psychology is a study into the psychic mind.  The founding father Sigmund Freud was well known for the work with the mind.  He invented what we now know to be psychology.  Those that study psychology often learn more about themselves and the people that are around them.  Psychology is often studied in universities and colleges across the world.  Mental illness is something that can affect any person from any walk of life. 

Psychology is great in the sense that you can really learn about someone by just listening.  Psychologists are known for just being able to sit for long periods of time listening to your problems.  People often call a psychologist when they are feeling down and like nobody cares about them.  A psychology specialist will often tell you that we are a product of our environment.  This means that our behavior is learned through the people and community that we are most familiar with.  Psychology can be studied for years and often a psychologist has to study for 7 or more years to obtain a PHD. 

Shockingly, many people are afraid to see a licensed psychologist in fear that they may tell them something that they do not want to learn about themselves.  Psychologists are very friendly and caring and usually have a lot of patience with their clients.  Their job is to help you to help yourself.  Most psychologists would rather let the patient talk than they do all of the talking.  Most psychologists allow you to speak your mind because they know that it will help you to open yourself up a little bit more.  Don't worry about sounding "crazy" because a psychologist's job is to let you know if you are or not.  The best evaluation that you can have is with honesty.

Psychology will allow you to learn much more about yourself than you ever dreamed possible.  The more that you learn about psychology, the more that you will be able to figure yourself out.  Psychology can be fun if you start your own psychology group.  Many people are involved in the study of psychology and you can best learn about psychology amongst friends, teachers and psychic books.
