What To Put In Your Wedding Programs
You can't tell the wedding party without a program, and if you forget to put the important stuff in your wedding program then you won't be able to tell who anyone is at all. There are a lot of things left out of a wedding program that really should be there if for no other reason than for the people that were there for your special day to remember it by. A wedding program is not only your chance to thank the people in your wedding party, but also a chance to acknowledge everyone who had a hand in either making the wedding happen or just for being a major part of the bride and groom's life.
To be honest, a good wedding program will also help the people in the church know when the service will be ending and they can get to the reception. So what should you always remember to put in your wedding program and what are the things you should make sure you include? Let's check it out.
The Service
Always give the order of the service and include the names of the people who will be doing different readings and giving any speeches during the course of the ceremony. There is nothing more annoying that following the wedding program and then all of a sudden a surprise speaker steps up that isn't on the schedule. It is frustrating in a lot of ways but mostly because years from now, when everyone looks back on your wedding and is looking through the wedding program, that person will not be there and that is a part of your wedding day gone.
The Cast And Crew
A wedding program is the perfect time to acknowledge the members of the wedding party so that, for one thing, those members can see their name in print and that everyone knows who they are. Each member of your wedding party will probably keep their copy of the wedding program so that they can remember the part they played in your special day. Also, they'll have proof that they actually did dress up for one day in their lives not their own wedding day.
The Important Instructions
Many weddings last all day, or multiple days, and it can get a little confusing sometimes on where to go and when to get there. A good wedding program will outline all of that for you and help you figure out when and where the reception is and how the rest of the day will run. Remember that the bride and groom only get one shot at this so follow your wedding program closely and follow any of the instructions given regarding meeting places or times and places for the reception and any other part of the ceremony.
